We’re continuing the Battle.net-related testing we mentioned previously. As part of
this, we’re now inviting beta testers to help test and refine a new desktop app for
Battle.net designed to improve the launcher experience for all Blizzard games and
streamline the ability for players to get into their games.
If you’d like to help us with the testing, head to your Battle.net Beta Profile and
opt in to at least one of the game universe beta tests (if you haven’t done so
already). We’ll be inviting players who do wow power leveling all the time to the
beta test in waves—if you’re selected, your Battle.net account will be flagged
automatically and you’ll receive an email with additional details.
i thought about being a tester for this.. then realized i already bypass the
launcher. which means this new system will no doubt make that impossible. further
thought.. i bet it will have ADS. shiver.
bypassing the launcher, bypasses updates to the game. It’s always best to use the
launcher. Also since they removed the ability to repair the game manually, the
launcher tests the game files and downloads hotfixes.
I hope we can opt out of this launcher and still launch the game normally with the
games executable. One, I ALWAYS want to type my login for security reasons (same with
authenticator). Two, don’t like being served any sort of ads for a product I pay for,
even if it is for services. I come to the main website for that. Three, I run wow
with a batch script that clears my cache and then launches the game. Fourth, if I
want to chat, I will log in or use the mobile app. Fifth, I don’t want another piece
of ad spewing bloatware like Origin or Steam running while I playing a game.
Along with that they about 60% of us will try our damnedest to exploit the new
system and it’s features. Why do you really think they have PTR and Beta? The do have
professional testers just mixed in with us to make the tests more realistic.
I’ll just put it out there since different people read different spots, but I’m
available to test. I currently log several hours each day on Blizzard games and will
submit feedback on my time with them. They will have some good ideas on their wow
powerleveling seeing if it is good or bad.
