In Path of Exile, what are some false things you believed about the game’s mechanics in the past? What misconceptions have you had on this game in the past?
For me, for a while I didn’t understand how Blasphemy worked and the way it was worded made me think that it made your character permanently cursed, so with odd exceptions on effect interactions it would only make your character weaker as you typically do not want to be cursed.
This was also a little while where I was convinced regal orbs could never drop with vendor recipes and divination cards being the only way you could get them. That theory of mine was disproven in act 8 (pre Fall of Oriath).
Let’s see What Misconceptions some collectors of poe exalted orb ever had in this game:
“When I first started playing I thought exalts were clearly worthless compared to alchs, because they only add 1 stat compared to generating an entire item of stats. I was convinced I scammed someone by selling them an exalt for 30 alchs.”
“I didn’t know there was a curse limit on enemies until I got to maps on my first character. The realization that all those cast when damage taken curses on my guardian (I think I had 4 or 5) and all those curse effectiveness nodes had been utterly worthless the whole time was soul crushing.”
“I had absolutely no idea how people regenerated ES so quickly for a long time. I figured it was people lowering the start of ES recharge as low as possible, but that barely made it quick enough. But then I learned about Zealots Oath, Guadian’s Regeneration Ascendecy, and Occultists Regeneration post kill and everything made significantly more sense.”
“It took me about 50 hours to realize that recoloring and adding socketes to items wasnt that expensive. I always looked for the right color in the beginning.”
